Alfred GareriJuly 31, 1929 ~ May 8, 2017 (age 87)
Alfred Gareri, 87, passed away on May 8, 2017. He was born July 31, 1929 in Akron to the late Joseph and Martha Gareri. He was co-owner of Gareri’s Hub Café and worked for Tri-City Motors where he was named one of the top ten salesmen in the country, and eventually retired from Bank One. Al was a member of Lockwood United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going on steamboat cruises down the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.
Alfred was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Gareri; and by sister, Edith Marshall. Al is survived by his wife of 64 years, Glenna; son, Jim (Paula) Gareri; daughters, Vicki Gareri and Connie Nagy; grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) David, Allison (Joe) Bertison, Angela (David) Willis, Michael (Alison) Gareri, Lindsay Nagy, and Kelley Nagy; and great-grandchildren, Lilly, Carter, Eliana, Asher, Grayson; good friends, Chuck Lyons and Ruth Esther Boone.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home 3326 Manchester Rd. on Thursday May 11, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Dr. Vicki Hillman-Breckner and Pastor Dale Gharky officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lockwood United Methodist Church in memory of Alfred.
