Eileen M. MassieJanuary 8, 1927 ~ May 23, 2017 (age 90)
Eileen Marie Massie, 90, our beloved mother and family “rock”, passed away on May 23, 2017. She was born January 8, 1927 in Uhrichsville, OH to the late Anthony and Pauline Besozzi. She retired as a secretary from General Tire in 1991, and was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Parish for 56 years. Eileen enjoyed big band music, dancing, playing the slots, talking politics and taking care of her cats, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was well known for her many quotes; “Waste not, want not” or “If you’re not going to do a job well, don’t do it at all” and her most used quote, “In everybody’s life, a little rain must fall”.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Massie; and sister, Wilma (Al) Dunn.
Eileen is survived by her sons, Michael (Ruth) Massie and Martin (Jean) Massie; daughter, Paula (John) Massie-Head; and grandchildren, Kara, Stephanie, Tony and Jedidiah Massie.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 4019 Manchester Rd. Akron, OH 44319. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
