James G. PearceOctober 5, 1928 ~ April 13, 2017 (age 88)
James G. Pearce, 88, passed away on April 13, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born October 5, 1928 in Akron to Richard and Mary Olive Pearce. He was a Professional Electrical Engineer and enjoyed working with many municipal electric systems throughout Ohio.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard (Vaulena) Pearce.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joann; six children, Becky (Bob Meister), Stephanie (aka: Tey), Rick (Tim), Dan, Matt (Kelly), Jeff (Lynn); 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Joanna.
Dear Dad/Jim, all Six of us and Mom are here together writing this. You were the epitome of a family man, project manager, mechanic and builder extraordinaire to the very end; always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. Thanks for the many family camping trips and vacation memories. Your constant support of your children and grandchildren will be missed. Your sense of humor, both good and bad, lives on in all of us. Thanks for being the father you were, we all love you very much. Your Family.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home 3326 Manchester Rd. on Monday, April 24th from 5 to 8 p.m. A service will be held on Tuesday, April 25th at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313. As a Veteran interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summa Hospice, Pebble Creek Facility or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in memory of James.
