Loren Dale Boydstun, 89, passed from this life into eternity with his Savior on Sunday morning, March 11, 2018. Loren was a longtime active member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and left a legacy of Christian love and care for his wife of 69 ½ years. He was born June 7, 1928 in Portland, Oregon to the late Harry and Lida Boydstun. Loren worked as an electrical engineer for General Electric in the International Sales Division. He retired as manager of Systems Engineering where he assisted in designing, engineering, and supervising the building of power plants throughout the world, including in developing countries. Loren attended Riverside Alliance Church. He taught Sunday School in White Plains, NY and enjoyed his house in Cape Cod, MA. Loren and Marianne moved to Akron, OH in October 2012 to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Nevin Wiest. He was a selfless man who could always be counted on to help his family and friends whenever the need arose.
Loren is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne; sons, Stuart and Robert (Suzanne) Boydstun; daughters, Elizabeth (Stuart) Ferguson, Barbara Duffy, and Alice (Nevin) Wiest; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home 3326 Manchester Rd. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m., with service beginning at 6 p.m., Dr. Nevin Wiest officiating. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Cape Cod, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Loren.
