Jean E. Sawyer, 96, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2021. She was born November 6, 1924 in Manchester, OH to Lester and Grace Dunn. She and her husband Frank were in the first graduating class of Manchester High School in 1944. She worked in the cafeteria for Manchester Schools, and was a member at Canal Fulton Christian Fellowship and Kingsway Alliance Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed golfing, cooking, baking pies, knitting and crocheting, but especially enjoyed being with children.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; 16 siblings; and husband of 59 years, Frank Sawyer, Jr. She is survived by son, Terry (Brenda) Sawyer; daughter, Judy (Michael) Blankenship; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Kingsway Alliance Church, 2500 Kingsport Way, Akron, OH 44314 on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m., with service beginning at 11 a.m., Dan Haynes officiating.
Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingsway Alliance Church, in memory of Jean.
